Singing lessons in Stockholm

Vocal tuition for children and adults – in person in Stockholm or online anywhere.

Singing is more than technique. It is confidence, freedom, emotion and storytelling – and all of it can be learned, wherever you are starting from.

My name is Victoria Bobal and I have taught singing for over eight years, to students of all ages and levels: from children discovering their voice for the first time to adults building technique, expression and confidence. Alongside teaching I work as a recording artist and study the master's programme at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.

Every lesson is planned around your voice, your goals and your musical journey. There is no template – there is you, and what you want your voice to be able to do.

How a singing lesson works

We start with a warm-up and vocal exercises chosen for your voice, not lifted from a standard book. Then we work on technique: breath support, registers, tone and intonation.

After that we move into repertoire. You choose songs together with me, and we work on them both technically and interpretively – what the lyric means, where the phrase breathes, how you make the song your own.

We finish with exercises to take home so the work continues between lessons. That is where most of the progress actually happens.

What you will develop

  • Vocal technique and breath support that lasts
  • Registers and range – moving freely between light and dark
  • Intonation and ear training
  • Interpretation and lyric work: telling something, not just singing correctly
  • Stage presence and microphone technique
  • Confidence in front of an audience, an audition or a recording session
  • Vocal health – how to sing a lot without wearing your voice out

Who the lessons are for

Beginners who have never had a singing lesson are just as welcome as experienced singers. You do not need to read music, and you do not need to be able to sing before you start – that is rather the point of taking lessons.

I teach children, teenagers and adults. Adult students often arrive feeling they should have started earlier. That is almost never true: the voice can be developed at any age.

I also work with singers and artists preparing for a recording, an audition or a performance who need focused help within a short time frame.

Singing and piano together

Because I teach both singing and piano, we can work on the voice and the accompaniment in parallel. If you want to sit at the piano and sing at the same time, this is a real shortcut – no juggling two teachers and two tracks.

Where lessons take place

Lessons run in person in Stockholm or online. You choose whatever works for you.

At my place in Stockholm

A calm, focused setting with a piano and plenty of time.

At your home in Stockholm

Particularly good for children, and for anyone whose schedule makes travelling difficult.

Online anywhere

A 40-minute lesson over video. You need headphones and a reasonably stable connection. If you live outside Stockholm, this is your way in.

In a small group

Group singing for 2–5 people, with room for every participant to sing.

Lessons in Swedish, English and Ukrainian

You can have your lesson in Swedish, English or Ukrainian. Working on the voice is personal, and for many people it goes deeper in their first language – true both for children who need to feel safe and for adults putting words to what a lyric means.

Vocal tuition in Ukrainian is hard to find in Stockholm. For Ukrainian families here it can be the difference between a child daring to sing and not.

What does a singing lesson cost?

A 45-minute trial lesson costs 860 SEK. A standard 45-minute private lesson costs 960 SEK, and there are lesson packages, a student rate and group options.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be able to sing before starting lessons?

No. Most people who start with me are unsure about their voice, and that is exactly why they come. We start from where you are today, not where you think you ought to be.

How often should I take singing lessons?

Many students come every other week, which leaves time to practise in between. If you want to progress faster, weekly works well. One-off lessons are also fine if you need help with something specific.

What ages do you teach?

I teach children, teenagers and adults. For the youngest, lesson length and structure are adapted to their concentration.

Where do the singing lessons take place?

In Stockholm, either at my place or at your home, or online over video if you live elsewhere.

Do online singing lessons actually work?

Yes. Technique, breathing and interpretation work well remotely. The difference is that we cannot play together in real time, so we lean more on backing tracks and focused exercises.

Which genres do you teach?

Pop and neighbouring genres are my home ground as an artist, but I also work with musical theatre and jazz, and with classical technique as a foundation. We start from the music you want to sing.

Which languages can I have lessons in?

Swedish, English or Ukrainian.

How do I book a singing lesson?

Send a message through the contact form with a few lines about where you are and what you want to develop, and I will suggest a time. You will hear back within 48 hours.
